Honey Bun Cake

One of our families ALL time favorite and requested every Thanksgiving is Honey Bun cake and as you can imagine it tastes just like those delectable honey buns we used to eat as kids. What a Pithy Mom likes about this recipe is its quick and affordable. In fact I usually don’t have to even shop because the ingredients are just naturally in my house for the unexpected “Oh did I forget to tell you?” moments when a dessert is needed for any occasion.

1 Yellow Cake Box Mix

4 Eggs

1 8 oz Sour Cream

3/4 Vegetable Oil

1 C Brown Sugar

1 TBSP Cinnamon

2 Cups Powdered Sugar

4 TBSP Milk

1 TBSP Vanilla

Directions: Preheat Oven 425 degrees

Mix Yellow Cake Mix, 4 Eggs, Oil and Sour Cream in 1 Bowl. Pour 1/2 of batter. into a 9 x 13 uncreased pan.

Combine Brown Sugar and Cinnamon in a separate bowl and spread on top of first 1/2 of batter in pan.  Pour remaining batter on top and use a knife to draw through the batter for swirl effect. Cook for 40 min.

While baking prepare Powdered Sugar, Milk and Vanilla for the “frosting” when cake is down baking pour frosting directly on top and spread evenly. HEAVENLY!
